Police are appealing for information after a burglary in Hook.

Sometime between 12pm on Wednesday, May 27 and 10.30pm on Sunday, May 31 a racing bike worth around £1,700 was stolen from a barn in Holt Lane.

The barn was broken into and a Giant TCR C2 black and white racing bike was stolen.

PC Stacy Beale, of the Hook Safer Neighbourhoods Team, said: "An expensive bike was stolen during this burglary and the owner is particularly desperate to have it returned as he is competing in an Iron Man Triathlon this weekend.

"We would ask anyone with information about the incident to contact police as soon as possible.

"We would also ask everyone in our communities to ensure their sheds and outbuildings are well looked after and secure at all times."
