Police in Farnborough are appealing for witnesses after an assault in the town on Sunday, October 12.
At around 8.20am a 71-year-old man was walking along West Heath Road when he was approached by two men who were cycling along the pavement. When the elderly man didn’t move out of their way one of the men punched him on the head. The victim was uninjured but shaken up following the incident.
The first man is described as:
- White
- About 50 years old
- Approximately 6ft tall
- Medium build
- Wearing sunglasses, a grey baseball cap, blue jeans and a grey jacket.
The second man is described as:
- White
- Around 50 years old
- 6ft tall
- Medium build
- Wearing dark clothing
Both men were cycling dark coloured bikes. PC Lucy Gedney, of Farnborough police station, said: “This was an unprovoked assault on an innocent member of the public who was left very shaken up. “There would have been people in the area at the time of this incident and we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed it.”
