A Plymouth man was charged on Friday, October 24, with causing death by dangerous driving. He is Richard William Hughes, 28, of Derriford, Plymouth.

 

The charge follows a collision on the northbound M3 motorway between junction five and the Fleet Service Area in the early hours of January 4.

 

Mr Hughes was the driver of a Citroen C3 which was in collision with a Honda motorcycle. The motorcyclist died as a result of his injuries. He was Martin David Hopper, 40, of Campsie Close, Basingstoke. Mr Hughes was bailed to appear at Aldershot Magistrates Court at 9am Thursday, October 30
