Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in Aldershot on Saturday, July 4.


Between 1am and 2.25am three men were walking home from town. While walking along Ash Road they were approached by two men who started a conversation with them.

 

As they walked into the Aldershot Methodist Church car park the two men threatened the others and demanded that they hand over their wallets and mobile phones.

 

One of the men refused to and he was then assaulted by both of the attackers who then hit another of the victims with a belt and ran off. They stole two wallets and a mobile phone from the three victims.

 

The man who refused to hand over his wallet received a fractured cheek bone and cuts and bruises to his head. The man who was hit with the belt suffered bruising to his head and bruising and grazes to his arms. The third victim was uninjured.

PC Gavin Whyte, of Aldershot CID, said: “This incident happened in the early hours of the morning and someone may have been disturbed and witnessed it.

 

“Two of the victims received injuries and we want to hear from anyone with information about the robbery or anyone who saw a group of men in the area at the time.”
