Police in Yateley are appealing for information after a fire in Fleet on Tuesday, July 28.

Between 2.30am and 3.10am a fire was started at the rear of a derelict building in Campbell Close. Extensive damage was caused to the building during the incident. Officers are treating it as arson.

Police are keen to speak to a young person who was seen wearing a white hooded top and riding a BMX bike in the area.

PC Noel Griffiths, of the Yateley Targeted Patrol Team, said: "Starting fires on purpose is extremely dangerous as fire can quickly spread between buildings.

"Fortunately on this occasion the building was empty and the fire was brought under control by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.

"We are keen to speak to any who knows who was responsible or anyone who saw anything suspicious at the time of the fire."
