Police are appealing for information after a woman was attacked by a dog in Farnborough on Thursday, August 6.

At around 11.15am a 74-year-old woman was leaving Southwood Surgery.

As she left she saw a man with a dog stood outside. She approached the man and asked if she could pat the dog.

He agreed but the dog then turned on her and bit her on the hand causing serious injuries.

The woman was taken to Frimley Park Hospital for treatment and then transferred to Lexham Hospital in Slough for a skin graft.

The man was aged between 18 and 20 and his dog is described as a cross terrier, ginger in colour and with long legs.

PC Tristan Flanagan, of the Farnborough Targeted Patrol Team, said: “This was a vicious attack and the injuries required several days of hospital treatment.

“It happened in a busy location that is overlooked by the café in Morrisons and someone may have seen something.

“We would ask anyone with any information to contact us as soon as possible.

“Residents are also advised not to approach any dogs matching the description in the area.”
