Detectives are appealing for witnesses after an assault in Aldershot on Sunday, August 23.
At around 11.30am police were called to a report of two men fighting in Pegasus Avenue.
On arrival officers found a man who had suffered a serious injury to his cheek after being struck with a pair of scissors.
The man was taken to Frimley Park Hospital where he is in a stable but serious condition.
Detective Constable Kevin Durrant, of Aldershot CID, said: “This was a serious assault which resulted in one of the men receiving a nasty injury to his face.
“Incidents like this are rare in Aldershot and we want to reassure residents that this was not a random attack.
“We would ask any witnesses or anyone with information to contact us as soon as possible.
“The local Safer Neighbourhoods Team is carrying out extra patrols in the area and anyone with any concerns can contact them by calling 101.”
A 28-year-old man from Aldershot has been arrested and bailed in connection with this incident.
