Police are appealing for witnesses after a fire in Hook overnight between Tuesday, September 8 and Wednesday, September 9.

Sometime between 10pm on Tuesday and 8am on Wednesday a derelict house in Tylney Lane was set on fire.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service attended to put out the blaze. Nobody was injured.

Officers are treating the incident as arson.

PC Tryffena Vickery, of the Yateley Targeted Patrol Team, said: “This was a potentially very dangerous incident as this fire could have spread to the surrounding woodland.

“Fortunately Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service were able to bring the fire under control and as a result nobody was injured.

“Starting fires on purpose puts lives at risk and we want to hear from anyone who has any information about this incident.”
