Hampshire Constabulary offers the following Safer Streets advice:
- You will be safest in bright, well lit and busy areas.
- Be vigilant and aware of your surroundings and report any suspicious behaviour to police.
- Try to look and act confident – look like you know where you are going. If you are wandering around with a map, looking confused, you are more likely to be targeted.
