Police are appealing for witnesses to a single-vehicle collision on the southbound M3, about two miles north of Fleet Services.

At 10.46am Monday, September 21, a silver Mercedes collided with the central reservation before travelling across three lanes to exit the carriageway.

The car stopped about 40 yards from the motorway with its roof level with the road.

The driver, a 53-year-old man from Walton on Thames, Surrey, was treated at the scene for a life-threatening condition before being taken to Frimley Park Hospital.

Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or from anyone who noticed the Mercedes or its driver before the collision.
