Police are appealing for witnesses to a single vehicle collision in which a Calmore man died.

At about 3pm Sunday, September 27, a 78-year-old man died after his red Volkswagen Polo collided with a road sign on the westbound A31 at Froyle, outside Shrubbery House.

The Polo rolled into the air and landed on its roof.  The driver was trapped in the upside down car and died shortly afterwards at the scene.

Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who saw the Polo being driven prior to the incident.
