Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a boy was assaulted in Aldershot on Monday, April 19.

At around 6pm a seven-year-old boy was walking through the bottom part of Ramillies Park.

He was approached by a man who said something to him and then grabbed him around the neck.

The man then left and the boy ran away.

The victim suffered scratches and bruising and was taken to Frimley Park Hospital for treatment.

Detective Constable Andy Panter, of Aldershot CID, said: “This was a serious unprovoked attack on a young boy and we want to find the person responsible.

“It happened during the evening at a time when other people may have been around and somebody may have seen something.

“If you were in Ramilies Park on Monday and saw anything suspicious please contact us as soon as possible.”
