Detectives in Aldershot have released an e-fit of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a robbery in Hook on Sunday, November 16. Between 11pm and 11.45pm a 17-year-old man was walking along the B3016 towards Hartley Witney. As he walked along the road a black Ford Fiesta approached and pulled up behind him. Three men got out of the car and walked towards the teenage victim. One of the men then threatened him with a metal pole and demanded his wallet and his phone. The victim handed over the items and the men got back into the car and drove off towards Odiham.
The first man is described as:
- White
- 5ft 9ins tall
- Around 17 years old
- Skinny build
- Wearing a red hooded top with the hood up and a black cap underneath the hood, black or navy blue jeans and white shoes.
The second man who is pictured in the e-fit is described as:
- White
- 5ft 9ins tall
- Skinny build
- Around 17 years old
- Wearing a black hooded top with the hood up and a cap underneath the hood, grey tracksuit trousers and white trainers.
The third man is described as:
- White
- 6ft 4ins tall
- Skinny build
- Around 17 years old
- Wearing a black hooded jacket with the hood up and a black cap underneath and four gold sovereign rings on each finger of his right hand.
Detective Constable Mark Ogburn, of Alderhsot CID, said: “Although this incident happened late at night someone may have driven past and witnessed it. “We are keen to trace the men responsible for this attack and would urge anyone with information or anyone who recognises the man in the image to contact police as soon as possible.” Hampshire Constabulary offers the following Safer Streets advice: You will be safest in bright, well lit and busy areas.
Try to look and act confident – look like you know where you are going. If you are wandering around with a map, looking confused, you are more likely to be targeted.
Try to keep valuables, such as laptop computers or jewellery, out of sight. Be particularly careful with your mobile phone – they are high-value items and are often very desirable to robbers or pickpockets.
If someone tries to take something from you, it might be better to let them take it, rather than risk being injured in a confrontation.
If you decide to defend yourself, remember that your attacker might be stronger than you – it is often better just to shout loudly and run away!
When out walking or jogging, don’t listen to a personal stereo – you might not be able to hear someone approaching.
