Detectives in Aldershot are investigating the serious sexual assault of a woman in Farnborough on Tuesday, October 7.

The attack, on a woman in her 30s, took place sometime between 8am and 10am in Ratcliffe Road. The assailant gained entry through an insecure door.

Police have set up a cordon in the area and are in the early stages of investigating the incident.

Detective Sergeant Cheryl Croucher, of Aldershot CID, said: "We would like to reassure the community that attacks like this are rare in Farnborough.

"We want to hear from anyone with information about the incident, particularly anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the area this morning."
