The family of a man who died in a road traffic collision on the A3 near to Petersfield have paid tribute to him. Nick Whay, 33, from Ash, died after the van he was driving was in collision with a Landrover Discovery on Sunday, January 11.
In a statement the family said: "Nick lived in and around Wokingham in Berkshire for the first 20 years of his life, before moving to the Ash and Aldershot area where he lived and worked.
"A popular young man with a large circle of friends, Nick was a very cheerful person with a great love for life.
"He enjoyed going out with his friends, playing computer games and watching television, but he was equally happy at home going for walks with his mum and enjoying the natural world.
"He will be remembered for his ready smile and his willingness to help and get along with people.
"Nick will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but all of them will remember him with a smile and can recall a funny moment they shared with him."
Nick's funeral will be held on Thursday, January 29 at 3.45pm at Easthampstead Park Crematorium.
