Detectives in Aldershot are appealing for information after an assault in Aldershot on Wednesday, February 4.

Between 5.30pm and 6.30pm a 31-year-old-man and his 28-year-old wife were working at Taste Buds in Grosvenor Road.

A group of up to 20 youths entered the restaurant and were verbally abusive and threatened the victims.

During the incident the woman was hit over the head and the man suffered a cut to his face.

Detective Constable John McCaig, of Aldershot CID, said: "This was a rare and isolated incident. It happened in the town centre and we believe there would have been a number of people around who may have witnessed it.

"We would ask anyone with any information about the incident to contact police as soon as possible."
