Police in Aldershot are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in the town on Thursday, October 2. At around 9.10am a 40-year-old woman was walking along the path through Manor Park when she was approached by a man. The man walked passed her and then stopped and turned around. He shouted at the woman and punched her on the arm. He then stole her purse from her pocket and ran off. The purse contained £90 in cash and the victim suffered minor bruising and was left shaken following the robbery.
The man is described as:
- Mixed race
- At least 6ft tall
- Stocky build
- Stubble on his face
- Wearing a bright blue baseball cap, a black zip up, hooded top with a white design on the arm, black tracksuit trousers and blue trainers.
PC Adam Geer, of Farnborough police station, said: “This robbery took place in a busy park during daylight hours. “It was unprovoked and we would urge anyone who witnessed it or anyone who recognises the description to contact police as soon as possible.”
