Police are appealing for witnesses after a distraction burglary in Farnborough on Friday, February 20.
At around 2pm three men entered an address in Broomhill Road claiming to be there from the council to fix a water issue.
One of the men went into the kitchen with the elderly female occupant while the other two searched the lounge and bedroom and stole £300.
The first man is described as:
- 18 to 19 years old
- Slim build
- 5ft 3ins to 5ft 5ins tall
- Short, mousey coloured hair
- Clean shaven
- Wearing a v-neck tank top, blue and white striped shirt, dark trousers and white trainers.
The other two men were both aged between 17 and 18 years old.
PC Penelope Murray, of the Aldershot Priority Crime Unit, said: "Incidents like these where vulnerable members of the community are targeted are unacceptable.
"We want to hear from anyone who has any information about the incident."
Hampshire Constabulary offers the following Safer Homes advice:
- Stop - are you expecting anyone to call on you? Do you know the person at the door? Don't be misled by what appear to be genuine reasons for calling on you.
- Chain - fit a door chain or spy hole so that you can speak to callers or check who they are without opening the door fully.
- Check - A genuine caller will carry identification and will be happy to wait outside while you check it. Remember to source your own number for the company they are claiming to be from. Burglars can make you believe they are genuine callers. Don't invite them in. If in doubt, keep them out!
