Detectives in Aldershot are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in the town on Wednesday, February 25.

Sometime between 8.45pm and 9.15pm a 28-year old man was walking into town along Elston Road when he was hit over the head from behind.

Two men then stole £240 from him and ran off.

The victim suffered swelling to his head and was treated by paramedics at home.

One of the men was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a black top and the other was wearing a baseball cap.

Detective Constable Andy Grieve, of Aldershot CID, said: "This was a rare and isolated incident that happened during the evening when other people may have been around.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the robbery or anyone with information about it."
