Detectives are appealing for witnesses after an incident in North Camp on Tuesday, February 24.

At around 11.30pm a green Land Rover Defender drove through the front windows of Londis in Redvers Buller Road and attempted to steal the cash machine from inside, however nothing was stolen.

The Land Rover was later recovered in Derwent Avenue, Ash after it had been set on fire.

Officers believe a white Nissan pick up truck was also involved. Nobody was injured during the incident.

Detective Constable Mark Ogburn, of Aldershot CID, said: "Incidents like this are rare and we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the vehicles leaving the scene.

"We would ask anyone with information to contact police as soon as possible."
