Detectives in Aldershot are appealing for witnesses to an assault in the town that happened on Sunday, March 1.

At around 8pm a 43-year-old man was involved in an argument with another man outside the Alexandra pub in Barrack Road.

When the man walked back into the pub he was hit, knocked to the floor and then kicked.

The victim suffered serious facial injuries and was treated at the Royal Surrey Hospital.

Detective Constable Ian Cullen, of Aldershot CID, said: "This assault happened on a Saturday evening and would have been witnessed by a number of people who were at the pub.

"The victim was seriously injured and we want to hear from anyone who was at the pub that night or anyone who witnessed it."
