At around 12.50pm police were called to a report of a small fire at the foot of a tree in a wooded area of Queen Elizabeth Park.
A member of the public attempted to put the fire out with his foot but while he was doing so he suffered serious burns to his leg and hands. He was taken to Frimley Park Hospital for treatment.
Police are keen to speak to two boys who were seen in the area shortly before the fire.
The first boy is described as:

- · 12 to 13 years old
- · Medium build
- · 5ft 6ins tall
- · Wearing a grey hooded top
The second boy is described as:
- · White
- · 12 to 13 years old
- · Medium build
- · 5ft 5ins
- · Blonde, spiky hair
- · Wearing a black and grey hooded top
PC Daniel Ross, of the Farnborough Targeted Patrol Team, said: "This was a dangerous incident and a huge amount of damage could have been caused as a consequence.
"A well meaning member of the public has suffered serious burns and we are keen to locate the people responsible for starting it.
"Were you in the park on Saturday? Did you see any suspicious behaviour? If you did, then please contact police as soon as possible."
