Police conducting an investigation into suspected domestic extremism have cordoned off two houses for searching.

The searches follow the arrest of a 25-year-old man outside a house in Crossways, Aldershot at around 3.45pm on Monday (April 6). The arrested man has been taken into custody at a police station in Hampshire where he will be interviewed throughout today.

His home address has been contained. We can confirm that armed officers were involved in the arrest.

A second property at nearby Denmark Square has also been cordoned off for search. It is anticipated that the searches will take several days and the cordons will remain for the duration.

A 26-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman have also been arrested and are in custody.

This is an ongoing investigation, led by Hampshire Constabulary's Serious and Organised Crime Unit.
