Detectives in Aldershot are appealing for witnesses after an incident in Farnborough on Monday, April 13.
Between 8.30pm and 9.30pm two men gained entry to a house in Wood Lane after breaking a rear window. A 32 inch television and a DVD player were then stolen.
After the two men had left the address they were approached by a local resident who was then assaulted by both men.
He received facial injuries which required hospital treatment.
On arrival officers found and extinguished a small fire which had been started at the address.
The first man is described as:
- White
- Aged between 17 and 18 years old
- Around 5ft 9ins tall
- Slim to medium build
- Wearing a black hooded top, black trousers and black Reebok Classic trainers.
The second man is described as:
- White
- Around 19 years old
- Around 5ft 11ins tall
- Stocky build
- Brown spiky hair with blond highlights
- Wearing ripped, stone washed jeans, a black hooded jumper and black Reebok Classic trainers.
Detective Constable Kevin Durrant, of Aldershot CID, said: “This incident happened during the evening and at a time when other people would have been around.
“Fortunately the fire did not spread and was extinguished by officers before anyone was injured.
“We would ask anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious to contact police as soon as possible.”
